Bomb risk to construction workers

Regeneration of British cities could result in the discovery of unexploded bombs dropped during World War 2, and could even result in serious injury.

According to war experts, only 1 in 10 German bombs dropped on the UK, actually exploded, whilst some were recovered, many were simply left and could now pose a threat to construction workers drilling and digging.

Bomb experts believe that the threat posed to construction workers has been under-estimated; with more than a dozen people being killed in mainland Europe by WW2 bombs in the last 10 years, it is almost certain that more fatalities may occur.
