More funding for building students

The Construction Sector is currently putting together deals to encourage more students to study relevant University courses by paying considerable chunks of the tuition fees. The increase of high-profile building projects, such as the Olympics, has seen an increase in the amount of interest shown in the area, but with University fees acting as a deterrent across the educational sector there are some fairly big financial obstacles to overcome.

The CITB Construction Skills sector of the Sector Skills Council is soon to announce a £1m donation intended to help some 200 Construction students through University - this is up considerable from the 60 students sponsored in 2005 and mirrors a welcome increase in interest from young people.
