Waste management high on construction agenda

A massive survey is taking place in Wales in an attempt to educate companies on the hazards and possibilities for managing waste.

The Construction sector is accountable for a third of all waste produced in Wales, amounting to 1.5 billion tonnes each year, and whilst it is an unavoidable by-product of the industry steps can be taken to minimise its impact. New technologies, such as off site construction can help reduce waste but the Environment Agency in Wales is keen to gauge industry awareness before enforcing new initiatives.
