Two new multi-million healthcare contracts awarded to Yorkon
Yorkon, the Portakabin subsdiary and award-winning off-site construction specialist has been awarded a series of Healthcare sector contracts worth £8 million.
Yorkon has been appointed by Skanska to work on a new 136-bed ward building at Walsall Manor Hospital. Yorkon will be responsible for both building and fitting out the new construction.
The four-storey project is due for completion in October 2007 and will comprise 104 steel-framed buildings manufactured off-site.
The £5 million Yorkon contract forms part of a £170 Private Finance Initiave to replace outdated buildings with state-of-the-art patient care facilities.
The other new healthcare contract awarded to Yorkon is the off-site construction of a 42-bed emergency assessment unit at the University Hospital North Tees in Stockton.
The £2.6 million ProCure21 contract for Interserve is also secheduled for completion in October 2007 and is part of the Government's drive to reduce waitihg times for emergency cases.
